October Sketched Out class at Michael's
I'll be posting past Sketched Out samples on my blog that weren't posted prior to class dates. Here are the October pages. The first person to sign up and I discussed doing a football page where she could use her Giants scrapbook paper and so I planned it with my Jets paper.
Two Halloween pages with Martha Stewarts paper, Martha Stewarts punches (blood dripping, spiders, spider webs), twine, ribbon, and a felt sticker. I cut the hats on the pumpkins and mounted them with foam tape then added black stickles.
The football pages were fun to make and I have lots of pictures to add to this type of page. The football papers, other than the Jets paper, is from Echo Park. The player, helmet, title, goal post, and footballs are cut on the Cricut. We had a great time making these pages. For the Giants page, we switched the colors to red, white and blue.
It's great to leave class with four pages done, ready to add pictures. Sign up for future Sketched Out classes at the Latham Michaels.

January 2013 Sketched Out Samples-Michaels
Looking forward to 2013 and thinking of snow inspired pages. The Recollections pack used for the December pages had LOTS of snowman pages. I loved it. I selected the pages that said 'Memories Never Melt".
The left side has a red snowflake ribbon across with a large photo mount. Two embossed snowflakes were cut from another page and have buttons added to the center Two snowmen were punched from silver glitter paper. The phrase on the page was highlighted with silver stickles. The right page has the same ribbon. The large snowman snowflake is cut from another page. Photo mounts added along with three punched snowflakes from silver glitter paper. A really easy page and I love the final product.
This spread uses paper from K and Co. The birds are placed on the outer sides of the pages. The inside sections have additional patterned paper from the pack and a green felt ribbon with a swirl of red pattern paper. Photo mounts are added to both pages and a Cricut cut phase cut in layers are added. Again, a simple spread. Two very different looks.
This class is scheduled for January 22 at 6:30 PM. Register at the Latham Michaels. Hope to see you there. Kits are available if you can't attend that day.

December Sketched Out Pages-Michael's
Oh this poor blog has been neglected. I have lots of past samples to post and a schedule to update but most important to me is to post the upcoming class samples.
I'm actually ahead on the Sketched Out pages. Miracle! This season I purchased both a Recollections and K and Co holiday paper pack that would include pages for both Christmas and Winter themed pages. I LOVE this pack.
Here are the two spreads.
This spread starts with two K and Co pages that include the tree on the right. I cut the tree out of the page. I layers waves of three patterned papers and tucked them behind the tree. Some foam tape helps give the tree some dimension. I added photo mounts and hand cut ornaments with eyelets and gold cording. The ornaments on the tree have glossy accents and the flames on the candles have gold stickles. The title is cut on the Cricut and sparkled with some bling.
This spread starts with two pages from the Recollections pack. The left side has a scalloped strip of red on white with Cricut cut gingerbread men and buttons. The word Sweet is part of a Cricut cut expression. The gingerbread men are colored with a Distress picket fence pigment marker. The photo mounts are cut with a spellbinders die and some have brown twine tied for extra embellishment. The left side simply has the rest of the Cricut cut phrase. Buttons are added on the 'i' of each word. The photo mount is cut with spellbinders dies. A Cricut cut gingerbread man is added to the right of the house and colored with the Distress marker.
This class is Tuesday December 18 at 6:30. A kit can be available if you sign up for class and can't make it that night. Register at the Latham Michaels.

October's Halloween card class at Capture Moments
Happy Hauntings friends. So many wonderful Halloween stamps to pick from, what to include. Another challenge. My fall/Halloween/Thanksgiving collection is almost the same size as Christmas/Winter. This class is scheduled for October 13 from 10 AM-noon.
First up in a DeNami creation using standard Halloween colors: purple, green and orange. This sample was done with Tombows but we'll be using Copics.
A Halloween cocktail from Impression Obsessions. Halloween festivities of spirits and spirits, right. Cheers. This stamp is called a Hallotini. Simple paper layering with some coloring with Copics. I've decided to glaze the glass with Crystal Laquer.
OK, I bought lots of Memory Box Halloween stamps last year because I just loved these images and papers. I know I use Memory Box a lot, but really, this one is fabulous. I colored watercolor paper with watercolor crayons and painted the moon with pearlex gold.
Finally, following my Tim Holtz blitz, I have lots of new Tim Holtz holiday stamps that I purchased for a steal. Halloween Tim style. Distress inks and Perfect Pearl mist with some white and black pen accents.
A little something for everyone. Hope you can join us. As always, please call the store at 356-7985 or send an email to register.

August Captured Moments Card Class
I'm happy to be posting the four cards for the August class at Captured Moments. I love the stamps used in all four cards.
Next up is a simple card that focuses on the House Mouse stamp Chewable Aspirin. If you have your own Copic markers you might want to bring them. There is a fair amount of coloring. The ice cube is covered with crystal lacquer and the cotton in the aspiring bottle is covered with white fluff.
The third card has a beautiful vegetable couture stamp from Lockhart. How many times can you say 'couture' in one posting? Anyway, I bought most of these stamps and loved them so much I've bought some more than once. Ever do that? I found this beautiful idea on Splitcoaststampers Lockhart file and the Cosmo Cricut papers work perfectly with these stamps. What I went through to get this paper for all the kits, yikes. But it was worth it. Just perfect. Delicious fashion.
Finally, we'll do a technique I learned in a class from Dave Brethauer of Memory Box. The watercolor paper is colored with Twinkling H2Os and then the Memory Box stamp is pressed on top with Brilliance Coffee Bean pearlized ink. Some SEI embossed metallic paper, a layer of gold metallic paper and some gold metallic cording finish this off. I've decided to add some bronze pearl pen marks on the tree for a little something extra. It's so hard to know when to stop. What makes one embellishment turn the card into a Wow effect and what makes it become too much? I always struggle with that.

First up is an elegant card featuring a stamp from Outlines (so sad they are going out of business). It also features SEI's Couture paper. Love the colors of this paper. Don't be intimidated by the layers; you stamp the flower twice on white paper and twice on the Couture paper then cut part of the flower away. The floral layers have accents with Pearl Pens in lilac, light green and kiwi. This card was designed by Outlines and is listed on their blog.
