DeNami Autumn Blog Hop

Fall is in full swing here in Upstate New York. I'm cleaning my garage and sorting through the holiday decorations. My 'fall' boxes have general fall things, Halloween things and Thanksgiving things. With all this inspiration, it was tough to decide which direction to go in. I finally decided on a Halloween and Thanksgiving card.

The Halloween card features a Sizzix texture folder with a cobweb. I immediately thought to use my newly purchased dotted line stamp to have the spider dropping into the card. We live next to a wooded area so I've moved way past yelling Eeekk when I see a spider in our house, but I'm still called upon to take care of them for everyone else in the house!

The Thanksgiving card uses a Memory Box fall/Halloween paper. For this card, I used the very popular wreath with the autumn stamp set plus the fabulous brown glitter and crystal lacquer.

DeNami Product Challenge-Ribbon

For the ribbon challenge I really wanted to use the crazy orange and black ribbon I purchased with the intention of using it for Halloween. The combo of the ribbon and bling made a quick and cheery card. So, OK the ribbon isn't from DeNami, but the stamps and bling are.

But to truly see a DeNami ribbon challenge, I'll try again to post a card I made for the color challenge. I mentioned to Nami that the glitter ribbon is so crazy and there weren't samples of the ribbon at the booth. The booth boards have been redone and the card kits includes the glitter ribbon so there are a couple of other ideas. But this one is my design and it was a great wedding card for Jason and Christa.

I couldn't figure out how to post two cards for the color challenge so here's hoping I'm more successful this time.

DeNami's Halloween Card Kit

Have you ever purchased something to make a card then somehow the supplies just sit in your studio? Hey, I'm sure I'm the only one to have ever done that. Well I've purchased all three of the DeNami card kits and just finished the Halloween set.

To be extremely clear, these are not my designs. But when I tell you that the kit has everything done for you, I mean it is done for you! I've attended make and take classes where I had to do more work. Every punch is done, every ribbon piece cut, etc. You literally just stamp and assemble. This would be a great thing to throw in your suitcase and stamp away from home because you only need scissors and adhesive.

If you haven't tried their kits, I strongly recommend them. I know, I always say I love their products, but seriously, they've knocked themselves out with this. Now that I have my blog card and ribbon challenge cards done, I'm on the the elegant floral set and thanksgiving set next, plus I have three card kits from Stampassion to do. Did I mention I have my own classes to prep for? In the meantime, enjoy their great ideas. I have a blast.

Curious Curio Cabinet by Melanie Phillips

I was lucky to take a wonderful altered art class with Melanie Phillips and Marilyn Rock. Attached are photos of the sample cabinet Mel made and my delayed picture sharing with classmates. I took this class the day on Eygpt Marie Raybine's wake and funeral and my dear fellow artists stopped at noon to pray for her and her family. This wasn't my most productive art day but it was therapeutic to be with my friends and create with my hands. I'll be posting my cabinet. In the meantime, looking at these pictures reminds me of the hugs and prayers we shared that day. Thank you ladies.
