Second Technique Tag Class sold out!

The word of mouth on this class was so great that we are holding a second class which is filled.  We're accepting names on a waiting list in case there is a cancellation.  Class will be March 16 at Captured Moments from 10 AM-3 PM.    This is my favorite class that I've ever taught. Can't wait.

Some samples from the Patchwork Pandemonium Class

So proud to show off just some of the work completed in the Patchwork Pandemonium Class.  I think everyone learned some techniques and really got down and dirty with distress inks, stains, crackle paints, alcohol ink, glaze and LOTS of Tim Holtz signature ideaology embellishments.

I think I continue to fund Tim and Mario's travels. Because for all the Tim Holtz products I have, every six months they keep coming out with a new line at CHA.  You're killing me Smalls!

Great fun and great job ladies.

Extending the date of the blog give away

I've had several emails that people are having problems signing up as a follower on the blog. Best to have a google or yahoo account.  In any case, I'm extending the date another week to allow time to work through these problems.  I'll try to help if I can.

Thanks for your patience.

Michael's Arts and Crafts store revamp the paperEd program

Michaels have revamped their paper crafting program for 2013.  We'll be focusing on the following areas:

  1. Card Making
  2. Tools and Technology
  3. Stamping and Inks
  4. Journaling
  5. Scrapbooking and Scrap INs
What does this mean for the Latham store?

For Card Making-We'll continue to offer a new card class (Card Tricks) each month on the first Tuesday of the month.  Class will remain $10 and will include supplies other than adhesive.

For Tools and Technology-We'll offer a Test Drive class each month on one key product.  Within each quarter, the test drives will rotate and then repeat in the next quarter.  They include Spellbinders dies with the Grand Caliber, Cricut E2, and Sizzix.  Class will remain $10 and will include supplies other than adhesive.  For the Cricut class, you may bring your Cricut for more hands on experience.

For Stamps and Inks-The Card Tricks will always include some rubber stamping because that's what I love!  Each month we will offer one version of tINKer Time which includes various techniques with Ranger/Tim Holtz Distress products and Perfect Pearls.  There are three versions of the class:  101, 201, and 301. In each class you will make 10 tags which can be used as a reference book for future projects. These classes will rotate each month and repeat for the next quarter.  If you took my Technique Tag Class at Captured Moment, the same tags will be completed in 101 and 201.  The 301 class will include additional techniques.

For Journaling-We will offer something like the Project Me description on the website, however rather than have a two hour class with a $25 fee, we are incorporating it into the Scrap IN on the first Saturday of the month.  This event is $5 and runs from 3-9 PM. While this class is open to all, I'm gearing this class for teens and young scrapbookers and will help anyone with a Project Me, Smash Book or Creative Chaos project.

For Scrapbooking/Scrap INs-We will continue to offer a monthly scrapbook class in which you will complete 2 double page spreads.  Kits are available so you will finish the project while you are in class. The cost is $25 and includes supplies other than adhesive or optional embellishments.

We will join the nation wide Scrap IN on the first Saturday of the month (see above in Journaling).  This class includes a flyer with a two page layout and card sample.  You will receive the kit to make the two page layout as part of your registration.

We're joining the nationwide Michael's Scrap In on the first Saturday and will continue our regular monthly crop on the third Sunday of the month.  This event is $5 and runs from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM.

Additionally, we continue to offer Martha Stewart classes.  Each quarter we will offer Glitter, Punch around the Page and Crafters Clay.  These classes will rotate each month and repeat in the following quarter.

This new plan focuses on the things our customers ask for so I hope you'll find something on the schedule you like and join in.  Classes require a minimum of four participants, excluding crop and Scrap In but class may continue for fewer students at my discretion.

So,,,,,,,,,,, tell me what you think about these changes.  I'd love to hear from you.

Announcing new classes at Art Smarts

I'm so happy to say that I've found a home for my monthly card class that is currently at Captured Moments.  I will be holding the last class at Captured Moments on March 2nd. This is not my usual second Saturday as I'll be Boston attending Copic training the second weekend of the month.

Beginning in April, I'll hold my regular card class on the second Saturday, April 13, at 9:00-11:00 AM.  This is an earlier start time but the store often has birthday parties beginning at 11 so I'm happy to have the date I want.  The price of the class will be $15 as the cost of the space is increasing.  No obligation, just email me or call me to register.  I'll try to set up a PayPal system to allow you to pay in advance by PayPal or use your credit card that day.  Of course cash and check are still acceptable. The class includes four cards and envelopes.

Also, I'll be holding a second class at Art Smarts which will focus on Stampin' Up! products.  This class will be the fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30-8:30 PM.  This will also be $15 for four cards and envelopes.  No obligation, just email me or call to register.  No product purchases are required but I will offer free shipping on any order placed that day.

Kits will be available to both classes for the same price.  Stamped images will be included in kits following the date of the class.

Captured Moments Class Cancelled

With the impending snow storm, we're canceling the card class scheduled for this Saturday.  We'll try to find another date and I'll post the new date when it's available.  If it can't be rescheduled, I have kits available already which I can provide to you.  There are two Valentine's cards so I can't move them to next month.  Keep you posted.
